Plumbing Bummers

8/18/2020 (Permalink)

Everybody has a story about having needed help from a plumber at some time or another, whether it was for sewage and septic backups or busted pipes. Once the plumber finishes, we then come in and do the clean-up and dry-down.

In our line of work, we break up different types of water losses by category.

Category 1 water losses are “clean water” events. Things like water lines feeding into toilets, sinks, or refrigerators fall into this category. It simply means the water has no biological contaminants and poses no threat to health or safety.

Category 2 water losses are mildly contaminated water losses. Things like dish soap in water would make it qualify as category 2.

Category 3 water losses are considered “grossly contaminated”. Contaminants may include fecal matter, blood, or other biological threats.

When a septic or sewer line backs up and causes damage in your Inland Empire home, know that SERVPRO of Chino/Chino Hills is at the ready and willing to help. Our technicians are on standby 24 hours a day, 365 days a week. We will not only make sure your home is safe and clean; we will make it “Like it never even happened.”
